G etting

just about anywhere in
Europe. It can be
reached either from the
west via Geneva/Lausanne
and Grand St Bernard,
the north via the

Shuttle,
boat or
hydrofoil?
The shuttle in
winter,
especially if
you have young
kids,
is
more dependable,
quicker and much
less hassle as
there is no need
to empty car and
lug kids up
stairs on to
a
deck. Although
worth noting
that recently
their
performance has
not been great
and be sure to
arrive early if
you want to get
your scheduled
departure.
The boat
is always fun,
especially in
summer,
and
it
gives
you
a good break
from the drive.
French speeding
cameras
- watch out for
them - you
have been
warned.
